Charles Kynard holds a very special place in jazz history.
Being a Hammond organ virtuoso and electric-bass player,
Kynard is unquestionably the finest organist to have played in Kansas City.
Despite the number of albums produced, he actually recorded infrequently choosing to appear nightly in the Los Angeles and New York night club scenes.

My wife and I wore out this album when we started dating one sweaty Providence August forty years ago. We still break out the battered vinyl now and then. Just a great 1970s sound: bluesy, soulful, funky. Mitchell is at the top of his game, as are Herman Riley, Freddie Robinson, and the rest of the crack band. Perfect accompaniment to a summer afternoon on the stoop.
